The Staff College is the leading provider of leadership development programmes for senior leaders within children’s services in local authorities and partner organisations nationally. Formed in 1999, the College designs and delivers professional development opportunities and leadership support for those in senior leadership positions across local authorities, children’s trusts, partnerships, alliances and national bodies. We support those professionals working in the leadership, management and delivery of services for children, young people and families throughout the UK, supporting the sector in achieving improved outcomes and equipping leaders with the skills they need to address the challenges of the future.
The College is currently delivering the Department for Education funded national leadership development programme for both new and aspiring Directors of Children’s Services and delivers programmes, that promote the leadership development pipeline with a strong focus on diversity of leadership. In addition, we offer bespoke leadership development solutions working with organisations and their senior leadership teams.
Over the past five years, we have grown steadily, both within the children’s sector and across the wider public and voluntary sectors. We are now seeking new Board Members and Board Chair to help us sustain this momentum and help drive our next phase of development. Whilst prior experience in children’s services is not essential, we are seeking people who are passionate about improving the lives of those in our communities through the development and delivery of leadership programmes and developmental support for those who are at the forefront of public service. You should bring a clear understanding of public serving organisations and a passion for improving outcomes through leadership development, along with the skills, insights and knowledge to support the governance and growth of an agile, expanding organisation.
