South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) and George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH) work together as part of an innovative and ambitious Group model, underpinned by our shared commitment to ‘Helping people to live healthier, happier lives’. With a joint Group Board and unified strategic direction now in place, we are focused on delivering high-quality, equitable, and sustainable healthcare services for our population of nearly one million people living across Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Coventry, and Solihull.
We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Midwifery & Neonatal Services, as our current postholder retires in September. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of maternity and neonatal services across our Group. Reporting to the Chief Nurse, you will provide professional leadership and strategic direction for maternity and neonatal services across both hospital sites and community services across both North and South Warwickshire. You will lead the development and delivery of a shared vision for maternity and neonatal care, one that drives measurable improvements in quality, safety, equity, and outcomes, whilst embedding robust governance and assurance frameworks. You will regularly attend and contribute at Board level, providing expert professional advice, constructive challenge, and influencing strategic decision-making to ensure the safe delivery of care and improved outcomes for women and their babies.
We are seeking a compassionate and values-driven senior midwifery leader, operating at or reporting into Director level, and comfortable in presenting to the Board. You will bring a strong track record of leading service transformation, improving quality and safety, and developing inclusive, future-focused workforce strategies. A visible and approachable leader, you will inspire confidence and empower teams at all levels, fostering a culture of openness, continuous learning, and improvement. Your ability to build trusted relationships across organisational and professional boundaries will be central to this role. Above all, you will share our unwavering commitment to delivering personalised, compassionate, and equitable care for every woman, baby, and family we serve.
